Steel gutter mesh: strength, durability and proven protection

Our steel range comes in three apertures, 2mm, 4mm and 5.4mm, to suit different leaf types and property needs. Our steel mesh is woven and welded, then hot-dip galvanised and powder coated for outstanding corrosion resistance. The entire range is non-combustible and compliant for use as a gutter guard in bushfire-prone areas under AS3959:2018. Our 2mm steel is also ember guard compliant for every Bushfire Attack Level (BAL): 12.5, 19, 29, 40 and Flame Zone.

Why steel stands out

Steel is the strongest material in our gutter mesh range. Here's what that means for your home.

Unmatched durability
Unmatched durability
Unmatched durability

Hot-dip galvanised and powder coated for outstanding corrosion resistance, with the zinc coating actively protecting the steel even at cut edges. Independently tested against salt spray, UV and weathering to make sure it lasts the distance.

Bushfire and ember guard compliance
Bushfire and ember guard compliance

Our entire steel range is non-combustible and compliant for use as a gutter guard in bushfire-prone areas under AS3959:2018. Our 2mm steel goes further: it's compliant for use as an ember guard for BAL 12.5, 19, 29, 40 and Flame Zone.

Proven performance
Proven performance

We've tested our steel mesh for tensile strength, puncture resistance and hail impact. It delivers over 1,700 N of tensile strength, around six times that of aluminium, and withstands hail at storm speeds.

Aperture options: 2mm, 4mm and 5.4mm

Your aperture choice depends on the leaves and debris around your property. A smaller aperture keeps out finer material, while a larger aperture suits bigger leaves and debris. All three apertures are made from the same steel.

2mm Aperture

2mm Aperture

The finest aperture in our steel range. Ideal for properties with small-leaf trees and fine debris such as wattle, jacaranda and poinciana. Also compliant for use as an ember guard for BAL 12.5, 19, 29, 40 and Flame Zone under AS3959:2018.

4mm Aperture

4mm Aperture

A versatile aperture that handles most Australian leaf types, from silky oak to gum leaves and gumnuts.

5.4mm Aperture

5.4mm Aperture

The widest aperture in our range, designed for large leaves, palm fronds and bamboo. Welded, overlaid wire construction makes this the strongest mesh we offer.

Tested to the limit

Our steel mesh has been independently tested for strength, corrosion and hail, and meets Australia's bushfire and rainwater-safety standards. Here's what the results show.

Strength and hail

Independently strength-tested at 1,700+ N tensile, six times aluminium. We fired hail at storm speed and it shattered without puncturing the mesh.

Corrosion resistance

Tested by CSIRO and UniQuest against salt spray, UV and weathering with no corrosion. Hot-dip galvanised and powder coated, it's built for tough conditions.

Bushfire and ember guard

Our entire steel range is non-combustible and compliant for use as a gutter guard under AS3959:2018. Our 2mm steel goes further as an ember guard for all BALs, including BAL 40 and Flame Zone.

Safe for rainwater

Tested to AS/NZS 4020, the standard for materials in contact with drinking water, so our mesh is safe to use with rainwater harvesting.
